The event will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS).

The Sailing Instructions  and any additional documents are available either in the clubhouse or downloadable from the web site. Any changes to the Notice of Race will be incorporated into the online version and posted as a notice to competitors..

The official notice board is in the clubhouse's enclosed porch. Notices will be mirrored on the web site within 24 hours of being posted.

On the water, the race committee may make courtesy broadcasts to competitors on VHF radio channel 69.

Excerpts from the NoR: 4 Eligibility and Entry

The event is open to all boats of the JOG and PHRF classes.

Essex County PHRF Association Rules association rules are in effect, except that there are no minimum crew requirement.

A current valid measurement certificate or rating certificate is not required. This changes rule RRS 78.1.

The registration fee is $25. This includes three Saturday night meal tickets. Additional tickets can be purchased for $5 each. A keg of beer will also be provided after racing on Saturday.

There will be two Modified Olympic races and a point to point long distance race. For the Melges [PHRF A] there will be several winward/leeward course races instead of the Modified Olympic races.

Excerpts from the NoR: 7 Venue

The start mark (mark S) is approximately one nautical mile 25° magnetic from the end of the Pike Creek Channel on Lake St. Clair. Marks 1&emdash;8 will form an octagon, with each mark placed 0.75 nautical miles from mark S. The two Sunday races will be held within the octagon, and the long distance course will be indicated in the sailing instructions

Corrected times for PHRF and JOG will be calculated using time-on-time handicapping.

Corrected Time ∝ Elapsed Time ÷ (PHRF Handicap + 557s/mi.)

A boat’s score shall be the total of her race scores.

Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a recommended minimum coverage of $300,000 per incident.

Prizes will be awarded for each class. The number of prizes awarded awarded will depend on the number of entries.

The Harold Asselstine Memorial Trophy will be awarded to the best spinnaker boat in SPSC hosted competitions. To be eligible for the trophy, a boat must be eligible for an award in a spinnaker division (PHRF or one-design) for at least four of: the Spring and the Fall Thursday-Night Series, the Open Series, the Invitational Regatta and the Harvest Moon Regatta.
